Audi rear arch widening
Widening the rear arches of an Audi A4 B6 Avant, from fitting the metal to finishing.

Widening the Audi's rear arches
This mini-project is about widening the rear arches on a B6 Audi A4 Avant. The work was done with Autonasennus J. Järvenpää in Siikainen. The arches had already been rolled, but the owner wasn't happy with the result.
First, a couple of photos of the starting point.
First we sanded off a 'few' millimetres of filler.
Next we started fitting fresh metal over the arches. The original arch would be cut away once the shape of the new one was right.
The new arch is made from two Golf front arches.
The arch was built with the planned wheels in mind.
The rear portion is now tacked in too, and the final shape is starting to look right.
Next the arch is removed so we can cut away the original outer arch panel.
Then the arch goes back on, is welded up and ground smooth.
The arch sections were cut from Golf front wings. This will be the front portion on the driver's side.
The driver's side outer arch panel cut away.
Finally the edges were folded and bonded for a strong, durable result.
The car went elsewhere for paint, so unfortunately no photos of the finished result were available.
